5月28日に米軍診療所長の交代式に参列しました。

前任者のエルスワース大佐(写真左）には大変お世話になりました。

私が佐世保市総合医療センターに常勤中には、研修医等を対象とした医療英会話教室への講師派遣や米軍診療所内での医療体験実習を依頼したところ、快く引き受けて下さりました。さらに、当クリニック開院においては、米軍人や米国人市民が受診可能な体制構築にも、ご尽力いただきました。大佐にはとても感謝しています。

新所長のブライ中佐(写真右）とは今後、新たな信頼関係が構築できればと思います。私達家族が米国留学中には子供達が小さく、妻の妊娠出産もあり大変でした。その際には、小児科医や多くの米国人の皆さんに助けていただきました。当クリニックでは日本人同様、病いで困っている外国人の方々の受診も進めて参ります。

 

On May 28th, I attended the change of charge ceremony for the NBHC Sasebo. I was very grateful to the predecessor, Captain Ellsworth (left in the photo).

When I was working full-time at Sasebo City Sogo Hospital, I asked her to send lecturers to medical English conversation classes for medical trainees and to give them a medical experience training at the base clinic, and she readily accepted. She also worked hard to establish a system which US navy personnel and American civilian could visit our clinic. I appreciate Capt. Ellsworth.

I hope to build a new relationship of trust with the new OIC, Commander BLY (right in the photo). When I was working for National Institutes of Health in Maryland, it was very difficult for my family because our children were small and my wife gave birth. At that time, our pediatrician and many Americans helped us so much. Just like Japanese people, we will also continue to provide medical treatment to foreigners who are suffering from illness.
