10月10日は、16時までと診療を短縮させていただき、米海軍生誕250周年の記念祝賀会に参加しました。

私は佐世保育ちで、長年米海軍の方々との交流がありました。さらに、米国国立衛生研究所留学から帰国後は、
佐世保市総合医療センターにて、米軍診療所の方々と医療英会話教室などで親交を深めてきました。
今回の祝賀会では友人達と再会し、非常に楽しい時間を過ごすことが出来ました。

当クリニックは、外国人対応も行っています。私達が米国留学中に受診した際はとても不安でしたが、
医療機関の多くの皆さんに助けていただいたため、その恩返しをしたいと感じているからです。
　当院はトライケアという米軍保険の医療提供施設の承認を取得しており、病で困っている米国人を含む
外国籍の患者さんを受け入れています。

写真1枚目の右側の男性はアメリカ人のMr.ゴードンです。彼は24年間、米海軍病院の医療兵曹長として勤務後は、
佐世保で長い間ゴードンイングリッシュスクールを主催し、佐世保の子供達の英語教育に携わってこられました。
現在は、ゴードンに外国人受け入れのアドバイスを受けており、外国人受診時のサポートやホームページ作成など
でご協力いただいています。1枚目の左側の男性はベナヴィデス最先任上級上等兵曹、2枚目の左側の男性はブライ
米軍診療所長です。

私自身はもちろんですが、スタッフも英語を話せる方に協力頂いております。
外国籍の方で内科への通院に困ってらっしゃる方がおられましたら、当クリニックを紹介していただけたら幸いです。

On October 10th, we shortened our clinic hours to 4:00 p.m. and participated in the　
celebration of the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Navy.

I had many years of interaction with members of the U.S. Navy since I was a child. 
Furthermore, after returning from studying abroad at the National Institutes of Health,
I deepened my friendships with members of the Branch Health Clinic Sasebo at 
Sasebo City Sogo Hospital through medical English conversation classes and other events.
 I was able to reunite with my friends at this celebration and had a wonderful time.

Our clinic also caters to foreign patients. We were very nervous when we visited 
the clinic while studying in the United States, but we received help from many people 
at medical institutions, so we wanted to give back.
 Our clinic is approved as a medical facility for the U.S. military insurance program, 
TRICARE, and accepts patients of foreigners who are suffering from illness.

The man on the right in the first photo is Mr. Gordon, an American. After serving as a 
Chief petty Officer at the U.S. Naval Hospital for 24 years, he ran the Gordon English School 
in Sasebo for many years, where he has been involved in English education for Sasebo's children. 
 Currently, Gordon advises us on accepting foreign patients and helps us with things like supporting 
foreign patients and creating our website.

The man on the left in the first photo is Chief Petty Officer Benavides, and the man on the left 
in the second photo is Commander Bly, Branch Health Clinic Sasebo's office in charge.

Not only myself, but all of our staff also speak English.
